يَٰبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَتِىَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَأَنِّى فَضَّلْتُكُمْ عَلَى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
Children of Israel, remember the favour I bestowed on you, and that I preferred you above the worlds - the peoples of your own time. The reminder of a favour is put to them as a reason to obey, not as a title to keep.
اے بنی اسرائیل! میری وہ نعمت یاد کرو جو میں نے تم پر کی، اور یہ کہ میں نے تمہیں اپنے زمانے کے تمام جہانوں پر فضیلت دی۔ نعمت کی یاد دہانی یہاں اطاعت کی وجہ کے طور پر دی گئی ہے، کوئی مستقل خطاب کے طور پر نہیں۔
