وَإِذِ ٱسْتَسْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِۦ فَقُلْنَا ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْحَجَرَ فَٱنفَجَرَتْ مِنْهُ ٱثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْنًا قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَّشْرَبَهُمْ كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ مِن رِّزْقِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ
And when Moses asked for water for his people, We said, 'Strike the rock with your staff.' And twelve springs gushed out of it - every tribe knew its own drinking place. Eat and drink of what God has provided, and do not go about the earth spreading ruin. The number of springs matches the number of tribes exactly, so that no one had to fight for a place.
اور یاد کرو جب موسیٰ نے اپنی قوم کے لیے پانی مانگا، تو ہم نے فرمایا: 'اپنی لاٹھی پتھر پر مارو۔' تو اس سے بارہ چشمے پھوٹ نکلے — ہر قبیلے نے اپنی جگہ پہچان لی۔ اللہ کے دیے ہوئے رزق میں سے کھاؤ اور پیو، اور زمین میں فساد پھیلاتے نہ پھرو۔ چشموں کی تعداد بالکل قبیلوں کی تعداد کے برابر تھی، تاکہ کسی کو جگہ کے لیے لڑنا نہ پڑے۔
