إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱلَّذِينَ هَادُوا۟ وَٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ وَٱلصَّٰبِـِٔينَ مَنْ ءَامَنَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحًا فَلَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
Those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians - whoever believes in God and the Last Day and acts rightly - have their reward with their Lord; no fear will be upon them, nor will they grieve. The weight of the ayah falls on the condition rather than the label: what is named as saving is belief and action, and a name on its own saves no one.
بےشک جو ایمان لائے، اور جو یہودی بنے، اور نصاریٰ، اور صابئین — ان میں سے جو بھی اللہ اور یومِ آخرت پر ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کرے، تو ان کے لیے ان کا اجر ان کے رب کے پاس ہے، اور نہ ان پر کوئی خوف ہوگا اور نہ وہ غمگین ہوں گے۔ آیت کا زور کسی لقب پر نہیں بلکہ اس شرط پر ہے: جو چیز نجات دیتی ہے وہ ایمان اور عمل ہے، اور اکیلا نام کسی کو نہیں بچاتا۔
