وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَبِٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِ وَمَا هُم بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
And among the people are some who say 'We believe in God and the Last Day' while they are not believers. This came down about the hypocrites. The Last Day is the Day of Resurrection, so called because it is the last of the days.
اور لوگوں میں کچھ ایسے بھی ہیں جو کہتے ہیں کہ 'ہم اللہ اور یومِ آخرت پر ایمان لائے ہیں' حالانکہ وہ حقیقت میں مومن نہیں ہیں۔ یہ آیت منافقین کے بارے میں نازل ہوئی۔ یومِ آخرت سے مراد قیامت کا دن ہے، اسے آخرت اس لیے کہا گیا کہ یہ تمام دنوں کے بعد آنے والا آخری دن ہے۔
