ثُمَّ أَنتُمْ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ تَقْتُلُونَ أَنفُسَكُمْ وَتُخْرِجُونَ فَرِيقًا مِّنكُم مِّن دِيَٰرِهِمْ تَظَٰهَرُونَ عَلَيْهِم بِٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْعُدْوَٰنِ وَإِن يَأْتُوكُمْ أُسَٰرَىٰ تُفَٰدُوهُمْ وَهُوَ مُحَرَّمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ إِخْرَاجُهُمْ أَفَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِبَعْضِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَتَكْفُرُونَ بِبَعْضٍ فَمَا جَزَآءُ مَن يَفْعَلُ ذَٰلِكَ مِنكُمْ إِلَّا خِزْىٌ فِى ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَيَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ يُرَدُّونَ إِلَىٰٓ أَشَدِّ ٱلْعَذَابِ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
Then here you are, killing one another and driving a group of your own out of their homes, backing each other against them in sin and aggression - and if they come to you as captives you ransom them, though driving them out was itself forbidden you. Do you believe in part of the Book and reject part of it? The recompense for those among you who do that is disgrace in the life of this world, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be sent back to the harshest punishment. And God is not unaware of what you do. They kept the ransom rule and broke the expulsion rule in the same act - which is how the charge of taking the Book in parts is proved out of their own conduct.
پھر تم ہی وہ لوگ ہو جو ایک دوسرے کو قتل کرتے ہو اور اپنوں میں سے ایک گروہ کو ان کے گھروں سے نکالتے ہو، گناہ اور زیادتی میں ایک دوسرے کی مدد کرتے ہوئے — اور اگر وہ قیدی بن کر تمہارے پاس آئیں تو تم انہیں فدیہ دے کر چھڑا لیتے ہو، حالانکہ ان کا نکالا جانا ہی تم پر حرام تھا۔ کیا تم کتاب کے کچھ حصے پر ایمان لاتے ہو اور کچھ کا انکار کرتے ہو؟ تم میں سے جو ایسا کرے اس کی سزا اس دنیا کی زندگی میں رسوائی کے سوا کچھ نہیں، اور قیامت کے دن انہیں سب سے سخت عذاب کی طرف لوٹا دیا جائے گا۔ اور اللہ اس سے بےخبر نہیں جو تم کرتے ہو۔ انہوں نے فدیے کا حکم رکھا اور نکالنے کی ممانعت توڑ دی، دونوں ایک ہی کام میں — اور یہی وہ ثبوت ہے کہ وہ کتاب کو ٹکڑوں میں لے رہے تھے، جو خود ان کے اپنے عمل سے ثابت ہوتا ہے۔
