فَوَسْوَسَ إِلَيْهِ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنُ قَالَ يَٰٓـَٔادَمُ هَلْ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَىٰ شَجَرَةِ ٱلْخُلْدِ وَمُلْكٍ لَّا يَبْلَىٰ
Then Satan whispered to him. He said: Adam, shall I show you the tree of everlasting life and a kingdom that does not wear out? The commentaries note what the offer was built on: the two things a man cannot keep.
تو شیطان نے اسے وسوسہ ڈالا، اس نے کہا: اے آدم، کیا میں تمہیں ہمیشگی کے درخت اور ایسی بادشاہت کی نشاندہی کروں جو کبھی پرانی نہ ہو؟ تفسیریں بتاتی ہیں کہ یہ پیشکش انہی دو چیزوں پر بنائی گئی تھی جنہیں کوئی انسان اپنے پاس رکھ نہیں سکتا۔
