ثُمَّ ٱجْتَبَٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَتَابَ عَلَيْهِ وَهَدَىٰ
Then his Lord chose him, and turned to him, and guided him. The commentaries note the order: he is chosen first, and the turning follows the choosing rather than earning it.
پھر اس کے رب نے اسے چن لیا، اس کی توبہ قبول کی اور اسے ہدایت دی۔ تفسیریں بتاتی ہیں کہ یہاں ترتیب یہ ہے: پہلے چناؤ ہوا، اور توبہ کی قبولیت اس چناؤ کے بعد آئی، نہ کہ کمائی ہوئی چیز کے طور پر۔
