إِنَّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ ءَاتِيَةٌ أَكَادُ أُخْفِيهَا لِتُجْزَىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍۭ بِمَا تَسْعَىٰ
The Hour is coming — I keep it all but hidden — so that every soul may be repaid for what it strives at. The commentaries take the hiding as the condition of the striving: an hour that could be counted down to would be prepared for rather than lived towards.
قیامت ضرور آنے والی ہے، میں اسے تقریباً چھپائے رکھتا ہوں، تاکہ ہر شخص کو اس کی کوشش کا بدلہ دیا جائے۔ تفسیریں بتاتی ہیں کہ اس کا وقت اسی لیے مخفی رکھا گیا ہے تاکہ آزمائش کا مقصد پورا ہو، ورنہ اگر وقت معلوم ہو جاتا تو لوگ گناہ کرتے رہتے اور صرف قریب وقت پر توبہ کر لیتے۔
