وَلَقَدْ أَرَيْنَٰهُ ءَايَٰتِنَا كُلَّهَا فَكَذَّبَ وَأَبَىٰ
And We showed him Our signs, all of them, and he called them lies and refused. The commentaries note the two verbs: the denial, and then the refusal that came after the denial had been made impossible.
اور ہم نے اسے اپنی سب نشانیاں دکھا دیں، پھر بھی اس نے جھٹلایا اور انکار کیا۔ تفسیریں بتاتی ہیں کہ یہاں دو الگ الگ فعل بیان ہوئے: پہلے جھٹلانا، پھر انکار، وہ انکار جو اس وقت آیا جب جھٹلانا خود ناممکن ہو چکا تھا۔
