فَأَتْبَعَهُمْ فِرْعَوْنُ بِجُنُودِهِۦ فَغَشِيَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْيَمِّ مَا غَشِيَهُمْ
So Pharaoh followed them with his forces, and there covered them from the sea what covered them. The commentaries note the wording that refuses to describe it, and read the refusal as the point.
