مَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّن رَّبِّهِم مُّحْدَثٍ إِلَّا ٱسْتَمَعُوهُ وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ
No fresh reminder comes down to them from their Lord but they listen to it as entertainment. The Qur'an came portion by portion, so that the warning would be renewed on their ears; they took each new portion as something to play with.
جب بھی ان کے رب کی طرف سے کوئی نئی نصیحت اترتی ہے تو وہ اسے محض تفریح سمجھ کر سنتے ہیں۔ قرآن حصہ حصہ کر کے نازل ہوتا رہا تاکہ ان کے کانوں میں یہ تنبیہ بار بار تازہ ہوتی رہے، مگر انہوں نے ہر نئے حصے کو بھی کھیل تماشا ہی بنا لیا۔
