لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا نَحْنُ وَءَابَآؤُنَا هَٰذَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّآ أَسَٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
We were promised this before, they said, we and our fathers, and nothing came of it. This is nothing but the tales of the ancients - stories set down to be amused by.
