قَالُوا۟ سُبْحَٰنَكَ مَا كَانَ يَنۢبَغِى لَنَآ أَن نَّتَّخِذَ مِن دُونِكَ مِنْ أَوْلِيَآءَ وَلَٰكِن مَّتَّعْتَهُمْ وَءَابَآءَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ نَسُوا۟ ٱلذِّكْرَ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًۢا بُورًا
They say: glory be to You - it was never right for us to take any protectors besides You. But You gave them and their fathers ease until they forgot the reminder, and they were a people ruined.
یہ معبود جواب میں کہیں گے کہ اے ہمارے رب! تو ہر عیب سے پاک ہے، ہمارے لیے ہرگز جائز نہ تھا کہ ہم تیرے سوا کسی کو کارساز بنائیں، لیکن تو نے ان مشرکوں اور ان کے باپ دادا کو دنیا کا سامان دیا یہاں تک کہ وہ تیری یاد اور قرآن کو بھول گئے، اور یہ ایسی قوم تھی جو ہلاکت میں پڑ گئی۔
