أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَيْفَ مَدَّ ٱلظِّلَّ وَلَوْ شَآءَ لَجَعَلَهُۥ سَاكِنًا ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَا ٱلشَّمْسَ عَلَيْهِ دَلِيلًا
Have you not looked at how your Lord spread the shade - the commentaries put it at the stretch between the first light and the rising of the sun? Had He willed, He would have left it standing still; and then the sun was made the thing that points to it.
کیا تم نے نہیں دیکھا کہ تمہارے رب نے کیسے سائے کو پھیلایا، اور مفسرین نے اس پھیلے ہوئے سائے کی تفسیر فجر کے طلوع ہونے سے لے کر سورج نکلنے تک کے وقت سے کی ہے، اور اگر اللہ چاہتا تو اس سائے کو ساکن اور غیر متحرک بنا دیتا، پھر ہم نے سورج کو اس سائے کی موجودگی اور تبدیلی جاننے کی دلیل بنایا۔
