وَأَصْبَحَ ٱلَّذِينَ تَمَنَّوْا۟ مَكَانَهُۥ بِٱلْأَمْسِ يَقُولُونَ وَيْكَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَبْسُطُ ٱلرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِۦ وَيَقْدِرُ لَوْلَآ أَن مَّنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا لَخَسَفَ بِنَا وَيْكَأَنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ
And those who the day before had wished themselves in his place began to say: God spreads out provision for whom He wills of His servants and restricts it, and neither the spreading nor the restricting is a mark of honour or of lowliness. Had God not been gracious to us, He would have made the earth swallow us too. Those who refuse do not prosper.
اور جن لوگوں نے کل اس کی جگہ کی تمنا کی تھی وہ کہنے لگے: لگتا ہے اللہ اپنے بندوں میں سے جسے چاہے رزق کشادہ کرتا ہے اور جسے چاہے تنگ کرتا ہے، اور نہ کشادگی عزت کی نشانی ہے نہ تنگی ذلت کی۔ اگر اللہ ہم پر احسان نہ کرتا تو ہمیں بھی زمین میں دھنسا دیتا۔ لگتا ہے کہ منکر کبھی کامیاب نہیں ہوتے۔
