وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ فَإِذَآ أُوذِىَ فِى ٱللَّهِ جَعَلَ فِتْنَةَ ٱلنَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَئِن جَآءَ نَصْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمْ أَوَلَيْسَ ٱللَّهُ بِأَعْلَمَ بِمَا فِى صُدُورِ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
And among people is one who says: we believe in God. But when he is made to suffer for God's sake he treats the persecution people deal out as though it were God's own punishment, fearing it in the same way and giving in to them, which is to be a hypocrite. Then if help comes from your Lord they say: we were with you all along. Does God not know best what is in the breasts of all His creatures?
اور بعض لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم اللہ پر ایمان لائے، لیکن جب اللہ کی راہ میں اسے کوئی تکلیف پہنچے تو وہ لوگوں کی اس اذیت کو اللہ کے عذاب جیسا سمجھنے لگتا ہے اور اسی طرح ڈر کر ان کی بات مان لیتا ہے، اور یہی منافق کا حال ہے۔ اور اگر آپ کے رب کی طرف سے مومنوں کو مدد آ جائے تو یہ منافق کہنے لگتے ہیں کہ ہم بھی تمہارے ساتھ تھے۔ کیا اللہ تمام مخلوقات کے دلوں میں چھپی باتوں کو خوب نہیں جانتا؟
