وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ فَلَبِثَ فِيهِمْ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ إِلَّا خَمْسِينَ عَامًا فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلطُّوفَانُ وَهُمْ ظَٰلِمُونَ
And God sent Noah to his people, calling them to God's oneness, and they called him a liar. He stayed among them a thousand years less fifty. Then the flood took them, the great water that went round them and rose over them until they drowned, and they were wrongdoers.
اور ہم نے نوح علیہ السلام کو ان کی قوم کی طرف بھیجا تاکہ وہ انہیں اللہ کی توحید کی طرف بلائیں، تو انہوں نے جھٹلایا، پس وہ ہزار سال میں سے پچاس سال کم عرصہ ان میں صبر اور ثابت قدمی کے ساتھ رہے، پھر انہیں طوفان نے آ پکڑا، یعنی وہ عظیم پانی جس نے انہیں گھیر لیا اور ان پر چڑھ گیا یہاں تک کہ وہ غرق ہو گئے، اور وہ اپنے نبی کو جھٹلا کر اپنی جانوں پر ظلم کرنے والے تھے۔
