لَيْسُوا۟ سَوَآءً مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ أُمَّةٌ قَآئِمَةٌ يَتْلُونَ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ءَانَآءَ ٱلَّيْلِ وَهُمْ يَسْجُدُونَ
They are not all alike. Among the People of the Scripture is an upright community who recite God's signs through the hours of the night, prostrating. The commentaries carry the same referent: those of them who believed, of whom Abdullah ibn Salam is named as the example.
وہ سب برابر نہیں ہیں۔ اہلِ کتاب میں سے ایک سیدھی راہ پر قائم جماعت بھی ہے جو رات کی گھڑیوں میں اللہ کی آیتیں پڑھتے ہیں اور سجدہ کرتے ہیں۔ مفسرین اسی مراد کی طرف اشارہ کرتے ہیں: یعنی وہ لوگ جو ان میں سے ایمان لائے، جن میں عبداللہ بن سلام کو بطور مثال بیان کیا جاتا ہے۔
