مَثَلُ مَا يُنفِقُونَ فِى هَٰذِهِ ٱلْحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنْيَا كَمَثَلِ رِيحٍ فِيهَا صِرٌّ أَصَابَتْ حَرْثَ قَوْمٍ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَهُمْ فَأَهْلَكَتْهُ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَٰكِنْ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
What they spend in this worldly life is like a wind carrying a killing frost that strikes the harvest of a people who wronged themselves and destroys it. God did not wrong them; they wrong themselves. The spending fails for the same reason the harvest did: the fault was in the ground it landed on, not in the Giver.
وہ لوگ اس دنیوی زندگی میں جو کچھ خرچ کرتے ہیں اس کی مثال اس تیز ٹھنڈی ہوا جیسی ہے جو ایسے لوگوں کی کھیتی پر آ پڑے جنہوں نے خود اپنے اوپر ظلم کیا ہو، اور وہ اسے تباہ کر دے۔ اللہ نے ان پر ظلم نہیں کیا بلکہ وہ خود اپنے آپ پر ظلم کرتے ہیں۔ ان کا خرچ بھی اسی وجہ سے ضائع ہوتا ہے جس وجہ سے کھیتی تباہ ہوئی: خرابی اس زمین میں تھی جس پر ہوا پڑی، دینے والے میں نہیں تھی۔
