يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَتَّخِذُوا۟ بِطَانَةً مِّن دُونِكُمْ لَا يَأْلُونَكُمْ خَبَالًا وَدُّوا۟ مَا عَنِتُّمْ قَدْ بَدَتِ ٱلْبَغْضَآءُ مِنْ أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَمَا تُخْفِى صُدُورُهُمْ أَكْبَرُ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ ٱلْـَٔايَٰتِ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ
You who believe, do not take intimates from outside yourselves: they will spare no effort to corrupt you and they love whatever distresses you. Hatred has already shown from their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater. We have made the signs clear to you, if you will use reason. The commentaries gloss the word the same way: the intimate here is the confidant a man lets into his secrets.
اے ایمان والو، اپنوں کے سوا کسی کو اپنا راز دار نہ بناؤ: وہ تمہیں بگاڑنے میں کوئی کسر نہیں چھوڑیں گے اور وہی چاہتے ہیں جو تمہیں تکلیف پہنچائے۔ ان کی زبانوں سے دشمنی ظاہر ہو چکی ہے، اور جو ان کے سینے چھپاتے ہیں وہ اس سے بھی بڑھ کر ہے۔ ہم نے تمہارے لیے نشانیاں کھول کر بیان کر دی ہیں اگر تم عقل سے کام لو۔ مفسرین اس لفظ کی یہی توضیح کرتے ہیں: راز دار وہ ہے جسے آدمی اپنے دل کے بھید سونپ دیتا ہے۔
