يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَقَالُوا۟ لِإِخْوَٰنِهِمْ إِذَا ضَرَبُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَوْ كَانُوا۟ غُزًّى لَّوْ كَانُوا۟ عِندَنَا مَا مَاتُوا۟ وَمَا قُتِلُوا۟ لِيَجْعَلَ ٱللَّهُ ذَٰلِكَ حَسْرَةً فِى قُلُوبِهِمْ وَٱللَّهُ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ
You who believe, do not be like those who refused and said of their brothers who travelled the land or went out to fight: had they stayed with us they would not have died or been killed — so that God makes it an anguish in their hearts. It is God who gives life and gives death, and God sees what you do.
اے ایمان والو، ان لوگوں کی طرح نہ ہو جو کافر ہوئے اور اپنے بھائیوں کے بارے میں کہتے تھے جو زمین میں سفر کو نکلے یا لڑنے کے لیے گئے: اگر وہ ہمارے پاس رہتے تو نہ مرتے اور نہ قتل کیے جاتے — تاکہ اللہ اس بات کو ان کے دلوں میں حسرت بنا دے۔ زندگی اور موت دونوں اللہ ہی کے ہاتھ میں ہیں، اور اللہ اسے خوب دیکھتا ہے جو تم کرتے ہو۔
