وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ أَنَّمَا نُمْلِى لَهُمْ خَيْرٌ لِّأَنفُسِهِمْ إِنَّمَا نُمْلِى لَهُمْ لِيَزْدَادُوٓا۟ إِثْمًا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ
Let those who refuse not reckon that the rein We give them is good for them; We give them rein only so that they increase in sin, and theirs is a humiliating punishment. The commentaries read the rein the same way: long life and delay, mistaken for favour.
