رَبَّنَا وَءَاتِنَا مَا وَعَدتَّنَا عَلَىٰ رُسُلِكَ وَلَا تُخْزِنَا يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ إِنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ
Our Lord, give us what You promised us through Your messengers, and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection; You do not break the appointment. The commentaries note the same thing about this asking: they ask for what was already promised, out of servanthood, not out of doubt.
اے ہمارے رب، جو کچھ تو نے اپنے رسولوں کی زبانی ہم سے وعدہ کیا ہے وہ ہمیں عطا فرما، اور ہمیں قیامت کے دن رسوا نہ کر؛ تو اپنے وعدے کے خلاف نہیں کرتا۔ مفسرین اس دعا کے بارے میں بھی یہی بات کہتے ہیں: وہ اسی چیز کا سوال کر رہے ہیں جس کا وعدہ پہلے ہی کیا جا چکا تھا، یہ محض بندگی کے اظہار کے لیے تھا، شک کی وجہ سے نہیں۔
