يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱصْبِرُوا۟ وَصَابِرُوا۟ وَرَابِطُوا۟ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
You who believe, be patient, outlast the enemy in patience, stand guard at the frontier, and be mindful of God, that you may succeed. The commentaries read the ladder in order: patience in oneself, then patience against an adversary who is also enduring, then the manned post.
اے ایمان والو، صبر کرو، دشمن کے مقابلے میں صبر میں اس سے آگے بڑھو، سرحد پر مورچہ بند رہو، اور اللہ سے ڈرتے رہو تاکہ تم فلاح پاؤ۔ مفسرین اس درجہ بندی کو ترتیب سے بیان کرتے ہیں: پہلے اپنے نفس پر صبر، پھر ایسے مخالف کے مقابلے میں صبر جو خود بھی صبر کر رہا ہو، پھر آباد چوکی کی نگہبانی۔
