قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱللَّهَ فَٱتَّبِعُونِى يُحْبِبْكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
Say: if you love God, then follow me, and God will love you and forgive you your sins; God is forgiving and merciful. The commentaries make the ayah the test of the claim: love that does not become following is only a claim, and the sign that God loves a servant is that the servant is following His Messenger.
کہہ دیں: اگر تم اللہ سے محبت کرتے ہو تو میری پیروی کرو، اللہ تم سے محبت کرے گا اور تمہارے گناہ معاف کر دے گا، اور اللہ بخشنے والا، رحم کرنے والا ہے۔ مفسرین اس آیت کو دعوے کی کسوٹی بناتے ہیں: جو محبت پیروی میں نہ ڈھلے وہ محض دعویٰ ہے، اور اللہ کی کسی بندے سے محبت کی نشانی یہی ہے کہ وہ بندہ اس کے رسول کی پیروی کرے۔
