ذُرِّيَّةًۢ بَعْضُهَا مِنۢ بَعْضٍ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
They were one line, descended one from another. The commentaries read the chosen families of the ayah before as a single succession rather than four separate choosings, each generation carrying what the one before it received. God hears and knows.
