إِذْ قَالَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُ عِمْرَٰنَ رَبِّ إِنِّى نَذَرْتُ لَكَ مَا فِى بَطْنِى مُحَرَّرًا فَتَقَبَّلْ مِنِّىٓ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
Remember when the wife of Imran said: my Lord, I have vowed to You what is in my womb, dedicated to You alone; accept it from me, You are the Hearing, the Knowing. The commentaries agree on what the vow meant: the child would be released from all worldly work and given to the service of the sanctuary.
یاد کریں جب عمران کی بیوی نے کہا: اے میرے رب، میں نے وہ بچہ جو میرے پیٹ میں ہے تیرے لیے نذر مان لیا ہے، خالص تیرے لیے وقف، پس تو مجھ سے قبول فرما، بے شک تو ہی سننے والا، جاننے والا ہے۔ مفسرین اس نذر کے معنی پر متفق ہیں: بچے کو تمام دنیاوی کاموں سے آزاد کر کے بیت المقدس کی خدمت کے لیے وقف کر دیا جائے گا۔
