فَنَادَتْهُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَهُوَ قَآئِمٌ يُصَلِّى فِى ٱلْمِحْرَابِ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحْيَىٰ مُصَدِّقًۢا بِكَلِمَةٍ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَسَيِّدًا وَحَصُورًا وَنَبِيًّا مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ
The angels called to him while he stood praying in the sanctuary: God gives you good news of John, who will confirm a word from God, and who will be a master, chaste, and a prophet among the righteous. The commentaries agree that the word from God he would confirm is Jesus.
فرشتوں نے اسے پکارا جبکہ وہ محراب میں کھڑا نماز پڑھ رہا تھا: اللہ تمہیں یحییٰ کی بشارت دیتا ہے، جو اللہ کی طرف سے ایک کلمے کی تصدیق کرنے والا، سردار، پارسا اور نیکوں میں سے ایک نبی ہوگا۔ مفسرین اس بات پر متفق ہیں کہ وہ کلمہ جس کی وہ تصدیق کریں گے عیسیٰ ہیں۔
