ظَهَرَ ٱلْفَسَادُ فِى ٱلْبَرِّ وَٱلْبَحْرِ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِى ٱلنَّاسِ لِيُذِيقَهُم بَعْضَ ٱلَّذِى عَمِلُوا۟ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
Ruin has appeared on the land and on the sea for what people's own hands have earned: the rain held back, the crops failing, the towns along the water going short. God lets it come so that He may make them taste part of what they did, and so that they may turn back.
خشکی اور تری میں فساد پھیل گیا، یعنی بارش رک گئی، فصلیں ناکام ہو گئیں اور پانی کے کنارے آباد بستیوں میں کمی واقع ہوئی، اور یہ سب کچھ لوگوں کے اپنے ہاتھوں کی کمائی کی وجہ سے ہے۔ اللہ ایسا اس لیے ہونے دیتا ہے تاکہ انہیں ان کے کچھ اعمال کا مزہ چکھائے، شاید کہ وہ توبہ کرکے واپس لوٹ آئیں۔
