وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا وَلَّىٰ مُسْتَكْبِرًا كَأَن لَّمْ يَسْمَعْهَا كَأَنَّ فِىٓ أُذُنَيْهِ وَقْرًا فَبَشِّرْهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
And when God's signs are recited to him he turns away in pride, as if he had not heard them, as if there were a weight in his ears keeping the sound out. So give him the news of a painful punishment, news given in mockery.
اور جب اس کے سامنے اللہ کی آیتیں پڑھی جاتی ہیں تو وہ تکبر کے ساتھ منہ پھیر لیتا ہے، گویا اس نے سنی ہی نہیں، جیسے اس کے کانوں میں کوئی بوجھ ہو جو آواز کو اندر جانے ہی نہ دے۔ تو اسے دردناک عذاب کی خبر سنا دو، ایسی خبر جو مذاق کے انداز میں دی جائے۔
