إِذْ جَآءُوكُم مِّن فَوْقِكُمْ وَمِنْ أَسْفَلَ مِنكُمْ وَإِذْ زَاغَتِ ٱلْأَبْصَٰرُ وَبَلَغَتِ ٱلْقُلُوبُ ٱلْحَنَاجِرَ وَتَظُنُّونَ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلظُّنُونَا۠
When they came at you from above you and from below you, from the top of the valley and from its foot, and the eyes turned aside from everything else, and the hearts came up into the throats, and you were thinking all kinds of thoughts about God.
جب دشمن تمہارے پاس وادی کے اوپر سے اور نیچے سے ہر طرف سے آئے، اور جب آنکھیں خوف کی شدت سے ہر چیز سے پھر گئیں، اور دل خوف سے اپنی جگہ چھوڑ کر حلق تک آ گئے، اور تم اللہ کے بارے میں طرح طرح کے گمان کرنے لگے، کچھ مناسب اور کچھ نامناسب، اسی سخت بحران کی وجہ سے۔
