وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا فِى قَرْيَةٍ مِّن نَّذِيرٍ إِلَّا قَالَ مُتْرَفُوهَآ إِنَّا بِمَآ أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِۦ كَٰفِرُونَ
And God sent no warner to a town whose people of ease and comfort did not say: we refuse what you have been sent with. It stands as a consolation to the Prophet for what he met from his own people, and it is the comfortable who are named, because comfort is what most calls a person to pride.
اور اللہ نے کسی بھی بستی میں کوئی ڈرانے والا نہیں بھیجا مگر اس کے آسودہ حال اور خوشحال لوگوں نے یہی کہا کہ ہم اس چیز کا انکار کرتے ہیں جس کے ساتھ تمہیں بھیجا گیا ہے۔ یہ آیت نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے لیے تسلی کے طور پر ہے کہ انہیں اپنی قوم سے کیا سامنا کرنا پڑا، اور یہاں خوشحال لوگوں کا خاص طور پر ذکر اس لیے ہے کیونکہ آسودگی ہی سب سے زیادہ انسان کو تکبر پر آمادہ کرتی ہے۔
