ءَأَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةً إِن يُرِدْنِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ بِضُرٍّ لَّا تُغْنِ عَنِّى شَفَٰعَتُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يُنقِذُونِ
Shall I take gods besides Him? If the All-Merciful willed me harm, their intercession would avail me nothing and they could not rescue me.
کیا میں اُس کے سوا دوسرے معبود بنا لوں؟ اگر رحمٰن مجھے کوئی نقصان پہنچانا چاہے تو نہ ان کی سفارش میرے کچھ کام آ سکتی ہے اور نہ وہ مجھے چھڑا سکتے ہیں۔ ایسے بے بس معبودوں کو خالق کے مقابلے میں پکارنے کی کوئی معقول وجہ نہیں۔
