وَمَا عَلَّمْنَٰهُ ٱلشِّعْرَ وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُۥٓ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ وَقُرْءَانٌ مُّبِينٌ
God did not teach His Prophet poetry, and it is not fitting for him. What he brings is nothing but a Reminder and a clear Qur'an - the answer, the commentaries note, to those who called it a poet's work.
اور ہم نے اس نبی ﷺ کو شعر نہیں سکھایا اور نہ یہ اُن کے شایانِ شان ہے۔ یہ جواب اُن کافروں کو ہے جو کہتے تھے کہ آپ ﷺ شاعر ہیں اور یہ کلام شاعری ہے۔ یہ تو صرف ایک نصیحت ہے اور واضح قرآن ہے۔
