وَٱسْتَغْفِرِ ٱللَّهَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا
And ask God's forgiveness; God is forgiving, merciful. The commentaries connect it to the case just decided: the asking is over the intention of defending the wrong man, before the truth of the matter came down.
اور اللہ سے بخشش مانگتے رہو، بےشک اللہ بہت بخشنے والا اور بہت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔ مفسرین اس بخشش کو ابھی طے ہوئے واقعے ہی سے جوڑ کر بیان کرتے ہیں: یہ درخواست اس ہلکی سی نیت پر ہے جو غلط آدمی کی حمایت کی طرف کچھ مائل ہوئی تھی، اس سے پہلے کہ اصل حقیقت پوری طرح سامنے آ جاتی۔
