حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكُمْ أُمَّهَٰتُكُمْ وَبَنَاتُكُمْ وَأَخَوَٰتُكُمْ وَعَمَّٰتُكُمْ وَخَٰلَٰتُكُمْ وَبَنَاتُ ٱلْأَخِ وَبَنَاتُ ٱلْأُخْتِ وَأُمَّهَٰتُكُمُ ٱلَّٰتِىٓ أَرْضَعْنَكُمْ وَأَخَوَٰتُكُم مِّنَ ٱلرَّضَٰعَةِ وَأُمَّهَٰتُ نِسَآئِكُمْ وَرَبَٰٓئِبُكُمُ ٱلَّٰتِى فِى حُجُورِكُم مِّن نِّسَآئِكُمُ ٱلَّٰتِى دَخَلْتُم بِهِنَّ فَإِن لَّمْ تَكُونُوا۟ دَخَلْتُم بِهِنَّ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَحَلَٰٓئِلُ أَبْنَآئِكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِنْ أَصْلَٰبِكُمْ وَأَن تَجْمَعُوا۟ بَيْنَ ٱلْأُخْتَيْنِ إِلَّا مَا قَدْ سَلَفَ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا
Forbidden to you are your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, your paternal and maternal aunts, your brother's daughters and your sister's daughters, the mothers who nursed you and your sisters through nursing, the mothers of your wives, the stepdaughters in your care born of wives you have gone in to — though if you have not gone in to them there is no blame — and the wives of your own sons, and that you take two sisters together, except what has already passed. God is forgiving, merciful. The commentaries agree the lists run upward and downward: mother includes grandmothers, daughter includes their daughters.
تم پر حرام کر دی گئی ہیں تمہاری مائیں، تمہاری بیٹیاں، تمہاری بہنیں، تمہاری پھوپھیاں اور تمہاری خالائیں، بھائی کی بیٹیاں اور بہن کی بیٹیاں، وہ مائیں جنہوں نے تمہیں دودھ پلایا ہو اور رضاعت کی بہنیں، تمہاری بیویوں کی مائیں، اور وہ ربیبہ بیٹیاں جو تمہاری پرورش میں ہوں اور جن کی ماؤں سے تم صحبت کر چکے ہو — لیکن اگر صحبت نہ کی ہو تو کوئی گناہ نہیں — اور تمہارے اپنے صلبی بیٹوں کی بیویاں، اور یہ کہ تم دو بہنوں کو ایک ساتھ جمع کرو، سوائے اس کے جو پہلے گزر چکا۔ اللہ بخشنے والا، رحم کرنے والا ہے۔ مفسرین کے نزدیک یہ فہرستیں اوپر اور نیچے دونوں طرف پھیلتی ہیں: ماں میں دادی نانی بھی شامل ہیں اور بیٹی میں پوتی نواسی بھی شامل ہیں۔
