وَمَن لَّمْ يَسْتَطِعْ مِنكُمْ طَوْلًا أَن يَنكِحَ ٱلْمُحْصَنَٰتِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ فَمِن مَّا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُكُم مِّن فَتَيَٰتِكُمُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِإِيمَٰنِكُم بَعْضُكُم مِّنۢ بَعْضٍ فَٱنكِحُوهُنَّ بِإِذْنِ أَهْلِهِنَّ وَءَاتُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ مُحْصَنَٰتٍ غَيْرَ مُسَٰفِحَٰتٍ وَلَا مُتَّخِذَٰتِ أَخْدَانٍ فَإِذَآ أُحْصِنَّ فَإِنْ أَتَيْنَ بِفَٰحِشَةٍ فَعَلَيْهِنَّ نِصْفُ مَا عَلَى ٱلْمُحْصَنَٰتِ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَنْ خَشِىَ ٱلْعَنَتَ مِنكُمْ وَأَن تَصْبِرُوا۟ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
Whoever among you cannot afford to marry free believing women may marry from the believing young women your right hands possess; God knows best about your faith, and you are of one another. So marry them with the permission of their people and give them their bride-gifts in fairness — chaste women, not fornicators and not taking secret lovers. And if, once married, they commit an indecency, their punishment is half that of free women. That is for whoever among you fears hardship; and that you be patient is better for you, and God is forgiving, merciful.
تم میں سے جو کوئی آزاد مومن عورتوں سے نکاح کرنے کی استطاعت نہ رکھتا ہو، وہ اپنی مِلک کی مومن لونڈیوں سے نکاح کر لے۔ اللہ تمہارے ایمان کو خوب جانتا ہے، اور تم سب ایک دوسرے ہی میں سے ہو۔ سو ان سے ان کے مالکوں کی اجازت سے نکاح کرو اور انہیں مناسب طریقے سے ان کے مہر دو، بشرطیکہ وہ پاکدامن ہوں، نہ کھلی بدکاری کرنے والی ہوں اور نہ چوری چھپے آشنائی رکھنے والی ہوں۔ پھر اگر نکاح کے بعد وہ بےحیائی کا ارتکاب کریں تو ان پر آزاد عورتوں کی نسبت آدھی سزا ہے۔ یہ رخصت اس کے لیے ہے جسے مشقت میں پڑ جانے کا خوف ہو، اور صبر کرنا تمہارے لیے بہتر ہے، اور اللہ بخشنے والا، رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
