وَٱبْتَلُوا۟ ٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغُوا۟ ٱلنِّكَاحَ فَإِنْ ءَانَسْتُم مِّنْهُمْ رُشْدًا فَٱدْفَعُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِمْ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ وَلَا تَأْكُلُوهَآ إِسْرَافًا وَبِدَارًا أَن يَكْبَرُوا۟ وَمَن كَانَ غَنِيًّا فَلْيَسْتَعْفِفْ وَمَن كَانَ فَقِيرًا فَلْيَأْكُلْ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ فَإِذَا دَفَعْتُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ فَأَشْهِدُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ وَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ حَسِيبًا
Test the orphans until they reach the age of marriage; then, if you find sound judgement in them, hand over their property to them. Do not consume it wastefully and in haste before they grow up. Whoever is well off should abstain from it altogether; whoever is poor may take from it in fairness. And when you hand over their property to them, have it witnessed — and God is enough as a reckoner.
یتیموں کو اس وقت تک آزماتے اور جانچتے رہو جب تک وہ نکاح کی عمر کو پہنچ جائیں، پھر اگر ان میں سمجھ داری اور رشد پاؤ تو ان کا مال ان کے حوالے کر دو۔ اسے فضول خرچی اور جلد بازی سے اس ڈر میں مت کھاؤ کہ کہیں وہ بڑے ہو کر خود نہ لے لیں۔ جو سرپرست خود غنی ہو وہ بالکل ہاتھ روک لے، اور جو غریب ہو وہ صرف مناسب حد تک اس میں سے کھا لے۔ اور جب مال ان کے حوالے کرو تو گواہ بنا لو، اور اللہ حساب لینے کے لیے کافی ہے۔
