فَلَا وَرَبِّكَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ حَتَّىٰ يُحَكِّمُوكَ فِيمَا شَجَرَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَجِدُوا۟ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ حَرَجًا مِّمَّا قَضَيْتَ وَيُسَلِّمُوا۟ تَسْلِيمًا
No, by your Lord, they do not believe until they make you the judge of what is in dispute between them, and then find in themselves no tightness at what you decide, and submit completely. The commentaries put the three together as one test: bringing the case, accepting the ruling, and doing so without resentment inside.
نہیں، تمہارے رب کی قسم، یہ لوگ ایمان نہیں لا سکتے جب تک اپنے آپس کے جھگڑوں میں تمہیں فیصلہ کرنے والا نہ بنا لیں، پھر تمہارے فیصلے سے اپنے دلوں میں کوئی تنگی محسوس نہ کریں، اور مکمل طور پر تسلیم کر لیں۔ مفسرین ان تینوں باتوں کو ایک ہی امتحان قرار دیتے ہیں: معاملہ لے کر آنا، فیصلہ قبول کرنا، اور دل میں کسی کدورت کے بغیر ایسا کرنا۔
