وَمَا تَفَرَّقُوٓا۟ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعِلْمُ بَغْيًۢا بَيْنَهُمْ وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِن رَّبِّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى لَّقُضِىَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أُورِثُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ لَفِى شَكٍّ مِّنْهُ مُرِيبٍ
And they did not divide until after knowledge had come to them, out of rivalry among themselves. Had a word not already gone ahead from your Lord for an appointed term, judgement would have been passed between them. And those made to inherit the Book after them are in doubt about it that leaves them uneasy.
اور وہ اس وقت تک متفرق نہیں ہوئے جب تک ان کے پاس علم نہ آ گیا، آپس کی ضد کی وجہ سے۔ اور اگر تمہارے رب کی طرف سے ایک مقررہ مدت تک کا فیصلہ پہلے نہ ہو چکا ہوتا تو ان کے درمیان فیصلہ کر دیا جاتا۔ اور جنہیں ان کے بعد کتاب کا وارث بنایا گیا وہ اس کے بارے میں ایک بے چین کر دینے والے شک میں ہیں۔
