فَأَهْلَكْنَآ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُم بَطْشًا وَمَضَىٰ مَثَلُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
So God destroyed people stronger than these in their grip on things; and the example of the men of old has already passed.
پس ہم نے ان سے بھی زیادہ طاقتور لوگوں کو ہلاک کر دیا، اور پہلوں کی مثال گزر چکی۔ مفسرین اسے قریش کے لیے تنبیہ سمجھتے ہیں کہ اپنی طاقت پر مغرور نہ ہوں۔
