هَٰٓأَنتُمْ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ تُدْعَوْنَ لِتُنفِقُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ فَمِنكُم مَّن يَبْخَلُ وَمَن يَبْخَلْ فَإِنَّمَا يَبْخَلُ عَن نَّفْسِهِۦ وَٱللَّهُ ٱلْغَنِىُّ وَأَنتُمُ ٱلْفُقَرَآءُ وَإِن تَتَوَلَّوْا۟ يَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَكُونُوٓا۟ أَمْثَٰلَكُم
Here you are, called on to spend in God's way; and among you are those who hold back. Whoever holds back holds back only from himself. God is the Rich and you are the poor. And if you turn away, He will replace you with another people, and they will not be like you.
دیکھو، تمہیں اس لیے بلایا جا رہا ہے کہ تم اللہ کی راہ میں، یعنی جہاد اور نیکی کے کاموں میں، اپنا مال خرچ کرو، تو تم میں سے کچھ لوگ بخل کرتے ہیں، اور جو بخل کرے وہ دراصل اپنے آپ کو ہی محروم اور نقصان میں ڈالتا ہے۔ اللہ بےنیاز ہے اور تم محتاج ہو، اور اگر تم منہ موڑو گے تو وہ تمہاری جگہ کوئی اور قوم لے آئے گا جو تمہاری طرح بخیل اور کوتاہی کرنے والی نہیں ہوگی۔
