يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَسْـَٔلُوا۟ عَنْ أَشْيَآءَ إِن تُبْدَ لَكُمْ تَسُؤْكُمْ وَإِن تَسْـَٔلُوا۟ عَنْهَا حِينَ يُنَزَّلُ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ تُبْدَ لَكُمْ عَفَا ٱللَّهُ عَنْهَا وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌ
You who believe, do not ask about things which, if they were made plain to you, would trouble you; and if you ask about them while the Qur'an is being sent down, they will be made plain to you. God has pardoned that, and God is forgiving, forbearing. The commentaries carry the same occasion: a run of questions put to the Prophet that the asking itself would have made binding.
اے ایمان والو، ایسی چیزوں کے بارے میں سوال نہ کرو کہ اگر وہ تم پر ظاہر کر دی جائیں تو تمہیں بری لگیں، اور اگر تم قرآن نازل ہوتے وقت ان کے بارے میں سوال کرو گے تو وہ تم پر ظاہر کر دی جائیں گی، اللہ نے اسے معاف کر دیا ہے، اور اللہ بخشنے والا بردبار ہے۔
