وَقَالَتِ ٱلْيَهُودُ وَٱلنَّصَٰرَىٰ نَحْنُ أَبْنَٰٓؤُا۟ ٱللَّهِ وَأَحِبَّٰٓؤُهُۥ قُلْ فَلِمَ يُعَذِّبُكُم بِذُنُوبِكُم بَلْ أَنتُم بَشَرٌ مِّمَّنْ خَلَقَ يَغْفِرُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَإِلَيْهِ ٱلْمَصِيرُ
The Jews and the Christians say: we are God's children and His beloved ones. Say: why then does He punish you for your sins? Rather you are human beings from among those He created. He forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. To God belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and to Him is the return.
یہود و نصاریٰ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم اللہ کے بیٹے اور اس کے پیارے ہیں۔ کہہ دیجیے: پھر وہ تمہارے گناہوں کی وجہ سے تمہیں سزا کیوں دیتا ہے؟ بلکہ تم بھی اسی کی پیدا کردہ مخلوق میں سے عام انسان ہو، وہ جسے چاہے بخش دے اور جسے چاہے سزا دے۔ آسمانوں اور زمین اور جو کچھ ان کے درمیان ہے سب کی بادشاہی اللہ ہی کے لیے ہے، اور اسی کی طرف سب کو لوٹنا ہے۔
