حُرِّمَتْ عَلَيْكُمُ ٱلْمَيْتَةُ وَٱلدَّمُ وَلَحْمُ ٱلْخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ لِغَيْرِ ٱللَّهِ بِهِۦ وَٱلْمُنْخَنِقَةُ وَٱلْمَوْقُوذَةُ وَٱلْمُتَرَدِّيَةُ وَٱلنَّطِيحَةُ وَمَآ أَكَلَ ٱلسَّبُعُ إِلَّا مَا ذَكَّيْتُمْ وَمَا ذُبِحَ عَلَى ٱلنُّصُبِ وَأَن تَسْتَقْسِمُوا۟ بِٱلْأَزْلَٰمِ ذَٰلِكُمْ فِسْقٌ ٱلْيَوْمَ يَئِسَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن دِينِكُمْ فَلَا تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَٱخْشَوْنِ ٱلْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِى وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ ٱلْإِسْلَٰمَ دِينًا فَمَنِ ٱضْطُرَّ فِى مَخْمَصَةٍ غَيْرَ مُتَجَانِفٍ لِّإِثْمٍ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
Forbidden to you are carrion, blood, the flesh of swine, what has been dedicated to other than God, the strangled, the beaten, the fallen, the gored, what a wild beast has eaten unless you reach it alive and slaughter it, and what has been slaughtered on the stone altars, and that you divide by drawing arrows: that is disobedience. Today those who refuse have despaired of your religion, so do not fear them but fear Me. Today I have completed your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and approved submission as your religion. Whoever is forced by hunger, not inclining to sin, God is forgiving, merciful.
تم پر مردار، بہتا ہوا خون، سور کا گوشت، وہ جانور جو غیر اللہ کے نام پر ذبح کیا گیا ہو، گلا گھٹا ہوا، ڈنڈے سے مارا ہوا، اونچائی سے گرا ہوا، سینگ سے مارا ہوا اور درندے کا کھایا ہوا جانور حرام کیا گیا ہے سوائے اس کے جسے تم زندہ پا کر ذبح کر لو، اور وہ بھی جو بتوں کے تھان پر ذبح کیا جائے، اور پانسوں کے ذریعے قسمت معلوم کرنا بھی، یہ سب نافرمانی ہے۔ آج کافر تمہارے دین سے مایوس ہو چکے ہیں، سو ان سے نہ ڈرو بلکہ مجھ سے ڈرو۔ آج میں نے تمہارا دین مکمل کر دیا اور اپنی نعمت تم پر تمام کر دی اور اسلام کو تمہارے لیے دین کے طور پر پسند فرما لیا۔ جو بھوک کی حالت میں مجبور ہو جائے، گناہ کی طرف مائل ہوئے بغیر، تو اللہ بخشنے والا مہربان ہے۔
