مِنْ أَجْلِ ذَٰلِكَ كَتَبْنَا عَلَىٰ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ أَنَّهُۥ مَن قَتَلَ نَفْسًۢا بِغَيْرِ نَفْسٍ أَوْ فَسَادٍ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَكَأَنَّمَا قَتَلَ ٱلنَّاسَ جَمِيعًا وَمَنْ أَحْيَاهَا فَكَأَنَّمَآ أَحْيَا ٱلنَّاسَ جَمِيعًا وَلَقَدْ جَآءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُنَا بِٱلْبَيِّنَٰتِ ثُمَّ إِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِّنْهُم بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ لَمُسْرِفُونَ
Because of that We wrote for the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, other than for a soul or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed all people; and whoever saves a life, it is as if he had saved the life of all people. Our messengers came to them with the clear proofs, and then many of them, even after that, went to excess in the land.
اسی وجہ سے ہم نے بنی اسرائیل پر لکھ دیا کہ جو کسی جان کو کسی جان کے بدلے یا زمین میں فساد کے بغیر قتل کرے تو گویا اس نے تمام انسانوں کو قتل کر دیا، اور جو کسی کی جان بچائے تو گویا اس نے تمام انسانوں کی جان بچا لی۔ ہمارے رسول ان کے پاس واضح دلائل لے کر آئے، پھر بھی ان میں سے بہت سے اس کے بعد بھی زمین میں زیادتی کرنے والے رہے۔
