يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱبْتَغُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ ٱلْوَسِيلَةَ وَجَٰهِدُوا۟ فِى سَبِيلِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
You who believe, be mindful of God, seek the means of drawing near to Him, and struggle in His way, that you may succeed. The commentaries read the means the same way: the acts of obedience by which a servant comes closer, not some thing standing between him and God.
اے ایمان والو، اللہ سے ڈرو اور اس کی طرف قربت کا ذریعہ تلاش کرو، اور اس کی راہ میں جہاد کرو تاکہ تم کامیاب ہو جاؤ۔ مفسرین اس ذریعے کو یوں بیان کرتے ہیں کہ یہ اطاعت کے وہ اعمال ہیں جن سے بندہ اپنے رب کے قریب ہوتا ہے، نہ کہ کوئی ایسی چیز جو اس کے اور اللہ کے درمیان حائل ہو۔
