وَأَنزَلْنَآ إِلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ وَمُهَيْمِنًا عَلَيْهِ فَٱحْكُم بَيْنَهُم بِمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ عَمَّا جَآءَكَ مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ لِكُلٍّ جَعَلْنَا مِنكُمْ شِرْعَةً وَمِنْهَاجًا وَلَوْ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ لَجَعَلَكُمْ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً وَلَٰكِن لِّيَبْلُوَكُمْ فِى مَآ ءَاتَىٰكُمْ فَٱسْتَبِقُوا۟ ٱلْخَيْرَٰتِ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ مَرْجِعُكُمْ جَمِيعًا فَيُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ
And We have sent down to you the Book with the truth, confirming the scriptures that came before it and standing guard over them. So judge between them by what God has sent down, and do not follow their desires away from the truth that has come to you. For each of you We appointed a law and a way; had God willed He would have made you one community, but He tests you in what He has given you. So race one another towards the good things. To God is the return of all of you together, and He will inform you about what you differed over.
اور ہم نے آپ کی طرف حق کے ساتھ یہ کتاب نازل کی، جو اپنے سے پہلے کی کتابوں کی تصدیق کرنے والی اور ان پر نگہبان ہے، سو آپ اللہ کے نازل کردہ حکم کے مطابق ان کے درمیان فیصلہ کریں اور جو حق آپ کے پاس آ چکا ہے اسے چھوڑ کر ان کی خواہشات کی پیروی نہ کریں۔ ہم نے تم میں سے ہر ایک کے لیے ایک شریعت اور ایک راستہ بنایا ہے، اور اگر اللہ چاہتا تو تم سب کو ایک ہی امت بنا دیتا، لیکن وہ تمہیں اس چیز میں آزمانا چاہتا ہے جو اس نے تمہیں دی ہے، سو نیکیوں کی طرف سبقت کرو، تم سب کو اللہ ہی کی طرف لوٹنا ہے، پھر وہ تمہیں بتائے گا جس میں تم اختلاف کرتے تھے۔
