قُلْ يَٰٓأَهْلَ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ هَلْ تَنقِمُونَ مِنَّآ إِلَّآ أَنْ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْنَا وَمَآ أُنزِلَ مِن قَبْلُ وَأَنَّ أَكْثَرَكُمْ فَٰسِقُونَ
Say: People of the Scripture, do you resent us for anything other than that we believe in God, and in what was sent down to us and what was sent down before, and that most of you have broken out of obedience? The commentaries note the word most: the charge is not laid on all of them.
کہہ دیجیے: اے اہلِ کتاب، کیا تم ہم سے صرف اس بات پر ناراض ہو کہ ہم اللہ پر ایمان لائے اور اس چیز پر جو ہماری طرف نازل کی گئی اور اس چیز پر جو پہلے نازل کی گئی، اور یہ کہ تم میں سے اکثر نافرمان ہیں؟ مفسرین اس لفظ اکثر پر توجہ دلاتے ہیں کہ یہ الزام سب پر نہیں لگایا گیا۔
