لَا يُؤَاخِذُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ بِٱللَّغْوِ فِىٓ أَيْمَٰنِكُمْ وَلَٰكِن يُؤَاخِذُكُم بِمَا عَقَّدتُّمُ ٱلْأَيْمَٰنَ فَكَفَّٰرَتُهُۥٓ إِطْعَامُ عَشَرَةِ مَسَٰكِينَ مِنْ أَوْسَطِ مَا تُطْعِمُونَ أَهْلِيكُمْ أَوْ كِسْوَتُهُمْ أَوْ تَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ فَمَن لَّمْ يَجِدْ فَصِيَامُ ثَلَٰثَةِ أَيَّامٍ ذَٰلِكَ كَفَّٰرَةُ أَيْمَٰنِكُمْ إِذَا حَلَفْتُمْ وَٱحْفَظُوٓا۟ أَيْمَٰنَكُمْ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
God does not take you to task for what is thoughtless in your oaths, but He takes you to task for the oaths you have bound yourselves by. The atonement for it is feeding ten needy people with the average of what you feed your own families, or clothing them, or freeing a slave. Whoever cannot find the means fasts three days. That is the atonement for your oaths when you have sworn; so guard your oaths. So God makes His signs clear to you, that you may be thankful.
اللہ تمہاری بے ارادہ قسموں پر تمہارا مؤاخذہ نہیں کرتا، لیکن وہ تمہاری ان قسموں پر مؤاخذہ کرتا ہے جو تم نے پختہ کی ہوں، سو اس کا کفارہ دس مسکینوں کو کھانا کھلانا ہے، اسی اوسط درجے کا جو تم اپنے گھر والوں کو کھلاتے ہو، یا انہیں کپڑے پہنانا، یا ایک غلام آزاد کرنا، اور جو نہ پائے تو تین دن کے روزے۔ یہ تمہاری قسموں کا کفارہ ہے جب تم قسم کھا لو، اور اپنی قسموں کی حفاظت کرو۔ اسی طرح اللہ تمہارے لیے اپنی آیتیں واضح کرتا ہے تاکہ تم شکر ادا کرو۔
